Heres a few portraits I've just completed for Wallpaper magazine for their contributors page. I went for a stripped back approach here - I limited the colour palette and added simple geometric halftones over the tops of the watercolours. The people featured here are Jason Evans, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Henry Bourne and Charles Negre.
Heres my cover for todays Guardian Guide feature on The Bourne Legacy. The guys over at the Guardian wanted something quite stark and moody for this piece so I went for a simple watercolour portrait of the movies star Jeremy Renner coming of darkness. Also here is the original sketch I based the illustration around.

Heres the cover I've just produced for the K&S remix album "Mixed Feelings" Its basically a hybrid of the original album design and a few earlier designs I did for them - so I suppose its a remix in itself. The album features Sebastian, Romanthony, Farley and Heller, Max Sedgley, Lee Fields, Analog People In A Digital World, Sander Kleinenberg, Ursula Rucker, Smoove and Turrell and Solomun.
Advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty contacted me to work on a poster and ad campaign for the Guardian's sponsorship of Gustav Dudamel concerts at The South Bank Centre.
Dudamel is a Venezuelan conductor and violinist. He is featured in the amazing 2011 documentary "Let The Children Play," a film which focuses on his work advocating music as a way to enrich children's lives. His incredible performances in which the audiences truly interact with the orchestra have to be seen to be believed. Check out his version of Leonard Bernstein's Mambo here.
Heres a few examples of a poster I did for Channel 4's Paralympics coverage along with the guys over at INTWorks (Its Nice That's creative division) They wanted it as colourful and poppy as possible and as I had to fit all these athelete's into one image it was quite a feat to pull off. The third one down is the one that made the cut.
Music updates - K+S, Romanthony, Farley and Heller and John Turrell
by jimmy turrell on Friday, 8 June 2012
My brother John Turrell (of the band Smoove and Turrell) has just released his first solo single proper - Wrong Time. Its from his forthcoming album The Kingmaker - which I've just checked properly out and is really amazing (I'm not just saying that because he's my little bro - promise!) so watch this space for updates.
Heres the video for the single made by Black Dog Productions and also his new website - www.johnturrell.com
Also I had the pleasure of working on the artwork for the new Kraak and Smaak single which features three complete house music legends on the same track. Romanthony (of Daft Punks "One More Time") is on vocals and Farley and Heller are on remix duties. Its a spangly, acid tinged beauty built for DC10 or the Space terrace and has just made it to number 1 in the DMC Zzub chart. Check it out out here.
